For a family living in Haarlem, we adjusted the ground floor layout by making a structural breakthrough to create a kitchen that connects seamlessly with the living room. This way, a cozy living space is crafted where you don't lose sight of each other.

The extension with a canopy is designed so that the sun doesn't fully penetrate the house. The brick "side aisles" provide a connection to the garden and reduce visibility toward the surroundings. This creates a more tranquil view from within.

The kitchen

From inside, the way you enter the house has been modified. Now, you enter the home through the kitchen from the hallway. This change has enlarged the living room and made the flow more logical.

The kitchen itself extends from this flow, with the cooking island as a central element. This setup allows the dining table to be positioned parallel to the cooking island, orienting the open kitchen completely towards the light and the garden.
