Renovation and extension of a semi-detached bungalow in Oostzaan.

This semi-detached 1970s bungalow had been missing the love and appreciation it deserved over the past decades. With a passion for 1970s bungalows, we were delighted to fully renovate and sustainably upgrade this home so it is ready for the next 50 years. We also designed an extension that is entirely in line with the home’s original architectural design.

We add what is needed and leave out what disrupts, so the design achieves a complete spatial balance and allows the home to fully embrace its unique setting. This creates a compelling narrative inspired by the essence of the home’s original design. In this way, we respond to the feeling the client already has about the home and strengthen its quality.
At the moment, we are fully developing the design in the Final Design phase. In this stage, all structural elements are coordinated in collaboration with the structural engineer, and the insulation approach is determined together with the building physics specialist.
